Angela Rippon CBE Joins the British DanceSport Association as Ambassador, Championing Inclusive Dance for All

The British DanceSport Association (BDSA) is immensely proud to announce that the legendary Angela Rippon CBE has joined the BDSA as an official Ambassador. Angela, a revered figure in British broadcasting, recently reignited the nation’s love for dance with her dazzling performances on Strictly Come Dancing last year, alongside our very own Director of Education, Kai Widdrington. Her passion, elegance, and dedication to the art of dance are second to none, and we are honoured to welcome her into the BDSA family.

What makes this partnership even more special is how it aligns with the BDSA’s core mission. At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to fostering individuality, celebrating diversity, and ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding for all dancers. Angela’s influence will amplify these values, helping us champion dance as a space where everyone – regardless of background or ability – can thrive. With initiatives like Let’s Dance, we are pushing forward with our promise to make dance accessible, safe, and inspiring for everyone. We truly believe in Ballroom Without Boundaries, Classical with Compromise, Freestyle without Frontiers and Latin Without Limitations – this campaign embodies that spirit of inclusivity and freedom.

Angela’s involvement as Ambassador marks a defining moment for the BDSA. Her commitment to dance and her ability to connect with audiences of all ages will no doubt elevate the profile of our beloved sport. Together, we are ready to push the boundaries of dance further than ever before and ensure that its positive impact reaches as many people as possible.
